Firstly, that's very good ammo... and secondly he'll have a meaningful amount and won't have to worry about rezeroing after every box.
THIS

FGMM is THE first choice in .308 ammo for serious rifle shooters.

Hi to all.
New member here looking for some .308 info regarding some ammo I got on a club day at bisley.
7.62x51 in a brown box marked with ggg on the box.
Looking for balistic data to load into kestrel elite.
Any help would be appreciated.

sounds like standard GGG bulk ammo, probably 147-150grn FMJ at around 2600-2700 FPS zero it at 100yrds then use the app to get an approximate elevation for 300 yrds and take a shot, you will be on the target frame, once you have adjusted for actual elevation you can back calculate the actual velocity for your rifle.
or find out the exact specs of the cartridge and do the same process to find the actual velocity for your rifle.
Apps are helpful but need fine tuning to your equipment.

GGG is the Lithuanian government ammo factory. The stuff in the brown boxes is their 7.62 NATO milspec product, with a 147 gr in-house bullet. Velocities are not too different from the 155 match product - over 2900 ft/sec out of a 30" TR test barrel. Ballistics are mediocre - not reliably supersonic at 1000 yds.
