Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

England I assume. In Scotland there is between 400-600 pairs depending on the figures. RSPB quotes 617 pairs in the UK.

I wouldn't believe anything the RSPB said, those lying b@stards couldn't lie straight in bed at night. Another self serving organisation that will never let facts or the truth get in the way of its twisted agenda.

Apparently there were only 4 breeding pairs last season (RSPB Figures) - when they were directed to others, they claimed they were "Not native" or "not recorded" - it is all about massaging figures to suit their Christmas campaign(s) - they point to Langholm (Where they tagged and monitored birds) claiming that all the tagged birds were "Killed and stolen" - fact is 2 of the tagged birds turned up alive and well in Northern Europe, proving the fact that they can and do migrate) another was killed on the road and several by other birds of prey and foxes (Video footage) - alas they do not believe foxes or other BoP kill them.
