i think that a .22 target rifle is a different beast to something like a hunting rifle, and a lot more acceptable to have a light trigger as it is a single shot target rifle, and when slung in, you don't close the bolt without it pointing in the right direction

And a pistol is different again, shooting IPSC Police pistol etc you woint notice if the trigger is 6oz or 16oz.

One of the best cases I heard of, involving an over-tweaked trigger, was the death of Trey Cooley.
There were other factors such as negligence on the part of the range owners for not having proper berm heights etc, but the combination of variables that resulted in that boy's death are truly staggering.
