I think it's how any sport is presented and the style and type of competition. It will be interesting to see how the Rio Olympics cover shooting sports.
Fishing is really popular but probably doesn't get the same coverage as cricket. It's only in recent years fishing was styled up to be watchable and they used personalities to present it. You can watch it and still never want to dip a line in the water.
I doubt even shooters like us could name any major shooting contenders. This is because we are too scared to come out the closet and say we are shooters because of the negative attitude to shooting that we seem powerless to change.
How snooker and darts ever made it as spectator sports on 'tele heaven knows! Bet you could put a name to a face though.

Oh yeah! She could have a great career ahead of her, like Kirsten Joy Weiss but it probably won't be in this country.

Kirsten Joy Weiss my future wife once I have made the traditional marriage sack!
I am Arthur Frayn, and I am Zardoz.
I have lived 300 years...

I am immortal.
I present now my story,
full of mystery and intrigue,
rich in irony, and most satirical.

I think it's appalling how poorly shooting is treated. Here in NZ the Olympic Team website were trumpeting the fact that they were sending more shooters than ever to the Olympics - three. They can send football, hockey etc., teams at 20 people each, but they send three shooters?
