I much preferred them when they were in Gnat's

The Gnats were excellent - I also remember seeing the large formation of the Hunters of the Black Arrows at Farnborough in the late 50's

Here are the Black Arrows at Coltishall in colour but no sound unfortunately. Amazing display with that number of aircraft:

Classic stuff! - I can't ever remember the Lightning's flying as a display team though, bet that made the ears ring.

In the early eighties after the Red arrows got the Hawks they had some of the Gnats at RAF Cranwell in the engineering flight, my dads mate happened to be the Chief Tech so I got a personal tour and sat in them, also a Lightning, Hunter and a Wessex
