They'll have to ammend your certificate, no? So I would expect a charge will be applied.

Like a one for one variation? If I've wanted more ammo, I've just filled that part of the form as well - if not, I've scored through and said no change to allowed amounts. They'll have my FAC for the variation, so changing the allowed ammunition isn't a big deal IMO and like I said it hasn't been for my Force either.

A change of ammunition allowance isn't chargeable,

20.3 No fee is payable on variation:
a) if the total number of firearms to which
the certificate relates is not increased;
b) in respect of ammunition alone; or
c) when a firearm certificate is renewed
at the same time.

Good job you're not in Durham!, they won't budge on 600/500 22lr for me, which seems crazy given I have over 4 times that allowance for center fire ammunition kukkuk

I seem to remember reading that the Home Office felt that either 5000 or 10,000 was not an "unreasonable" amount to request for serious target shooting where batching is important but I can't find the link.

Just a quick update on this, stuck my certificate in. Didn't hear anything. 4 days later it turns up on my mat with the new 5000/6000 limit. Painless

Thanks for advise guys
