If NBC is to open now then it hopefully will be without access to the club house...I for one am not going in there.
I just need the sign in sheets to be accessible and a designated bush, not asking for much really!

I agree with the clubhouse etc, but I can't see the issue with using a firing point, one at a time. you can hardley say the outdoor ranges aren't well ventilated?
as for Martin, I've always found him to very pragmatic and sensible, with a clear no nonsense approach to things, but as you suggest, he isn't the issue. If everyone was like him, it'd be fine, but you find in this world there are a lot of people too lazy too lift a toilet seat or flush a loo, so expecting them to be sensible with other things is also a bit of a stretch

As far as my club goes, I had a chat with one of our club committee members last week, and he said they were having a meeting this week about re-opening the (outdoor) range.

His thoughts were limiting shooters to 4 to maintain distancing (we have 8 lanes) plus an RO, no-one in the social area, and booking a time slot for a max of 2 details.

Any socialising will have to be in the carpark, maintaining distances.

I have addressed the signing in with our FEO - it is a problem because as stated I am not going into the club house.

I was told to email Martin every time I had been shooting. I think it is a not very sustainable situation as at the end of the year who keeps track.

The log book is there for a reason.

what's the problem with stepping into the entrance to write in the book?

You have been there, haven't you.

Sometimes one has to walk past 4-5 people in order to sign in. People who walk in with you or past you on the way out.

Then there are all the surfaces, pens, counter, sign in book.

That club house is a disaster waiting to happen if they open up without any restrictions in place.

Blackstuff, I do not like the wording of that faceshite post...."it is clear as a business"...well it is a club...non essential.

Lincs firearms department might give them the go ahead however I think that will at the moment be a mistake.

yeah I know the place. but what I mean is, if they manage it, and numbers of people are restricted, with arrival times etc> rather than just turn up and shoot, you won't have the issue of squeezing past anyone. hell, they could even set up a table across the entrance with the book on it, so you don't even have to step in.
as for pens etc, I think you know in your heart that is a silly reason. you can take a pen with you (bet you have at least one in a shooting bag) or, as a responsible dog owner, I bet you have a supply of nappy sacks on you. I just use them as super quick gloves / barrier layer.

I totally agree that going in, getting a bacon sarnie / tea/ sit by the fire is a SUPER bad idea

If it is outdoors then it is very different to a gym.

My local clay ground posted a plan for when they reopen a few days ago. The plan is to have everyone book online, preorder any ammo etc that is needed, and pay only by card. This eliminates the need to enter the shop. In addition each group would be "caddied" so that handling of any equipment other than your own won't be necessary. Seems perfectly safe as an outdoor sporting event!

Sywell range has a 50 yard wide firing point...completely open, front and behind..safer than a Tesco queue. Gloves and a mask...no,problem...
