Famous last words! A team has claimed to have cracked the message using a Royal Artillery code book from the time. I'd want to see details of the code book and the crack before completely believing this though...

Just read details of the alleged crack and it sounds a little unlikely. The chap claiming to have solved part of the message seems to think that it consists of a list of rather dubious acronyms rather than an encrypted message. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20749632
