BAN ON CIVILIAN GUN CLUBS USING SPECIFIC WEAPON/ AMMUNITION TYPES AS A RESULT OF TWO RECENT SERIOUS INCIDENTS
Background
1. What Happened. There has recently been 2 incidents involving civilian gun clubs using military ranges both of which are currently being investigated by National Rifle Association.
CONTROL MEASURES TO BE IMPLEMENTED.
2. Until further notice no users of MOD Ranges are permitted to use the following weapons and ammunition.
a. Weapons
Rangemaster Precision Arms magazine-fed rifles in .50” calibre
Krag-Jorgensen rifles in 6.5 x 55 calibre and larger calibres manufactured prior to 1945, except model 1912 carbine and derivatives of the M1912
b. Ammunition. .50” BMG ammunition from the following batches;
LC 51 (Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Independence MO.1951)
LC 83 (Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Independence MO.1983)
A80 R1M3 (Pretoria Metal Pressings, Republic of South Africa)
SF 1-83 12.7 S (France ,1983)
3. Control measures will be reviewed once the NRA investigation is sufficiently mature in identifying the actual cause of both incidents.
EFFECTIVE DATE
4. The required action is to be taken immediately on receipt of this notice.

Probably best not to comment on an open forum as there are investigations happening (we discussed this before).
The people involved may not wish to have the details publicised either.
I am sure a report will be issued once it has all been investigated.
