I know two guys with .17 hmr, so this isn't direct experience. Both say they need cleaning, one after 10-15 shots and the other around the 20-25 shot count. This may be ammo dependant, but not sure. Both also say they are nice to shoot and very accurate and not as subject to wind as people may say. I think, from memory, both are CZs.

I've shot a cz 452 American 16 inch barrell varmint with meopta 4x12-56 I used 17 gr remmington and it never missed once in 8 years.....I have never found the wind affects shots under 100 m......I clean it through with the old boresnake whilst it's my turn on the lamp! Or after like 15-20 shots.....
When someone says "it's not about the money" you know what? it probably is all about money!
