The great Brexit plan is to vote ALL EU legislation through en-bloc, to prevent a melt-down of our legal system. There won't be any time to pick and choose which EU laws we enact and which ones we don't. Over the next 10 years or so some of these laws might get repealed.
But firearms law will be way down the list of priorities, correction - right at the bottom of the list.

This isn't a law/legislation though, its a directive which member states have to interpret to their legal systems and come up with legislation. Agreed its a low/no priority think but AFAIK all directives have time limits for compliance and the UK always complies on time.

I hope Britain is out of the EU before it's even a consideration.
Member states will have 15 months from the date of entry into force of the directive to transpose the new rules into national law and 30 months to put in place data-filling systems for registering all information needed in order to trace and identify firearms.

Thats how I understand it. I cannot see us changing legislation as a result of this.Blackstuff wrote:This isn't a law/legislation though, its a directive which member states have to interpret to their legal systems and come up with legislation. The UK usually obeys these things to the letter in the blind belief thay are setting an example (albeit of being tw@ts) to the rest of the EU who do what should be done..interpret..or ignore....This isn't a law/legislation though, its a directive which member states have to interpret to their legal systems and come up with legislation.
