Yes I think you're right, but it's a bit like a really good band making a come back with new material... they run the risk of ruining their image. We'll see.

Anything that is not a remake with a vastly inferior cast to the original, or based on a comic book.

I am so sick and tired of comic books and remakes. I am an adult - I do not read comic books, nor do I watch movies based on them. And remakes? What a load of crap! Worst casting in history - the remake of Sahara with Jim Belushi in the part made famous by Humphrey Bogart. In what demented universe is Jim Belushi a viable replacement for Bogie???

I swear an original idea would kill Hollywood. (Much like the Chinese - everything they do is based on intellectual property stolen from elsewhere. )

I couldn't agree more. Who in their right mind thinks Steve Martin would make a better Inspector Clouseau than Peter Sellars! Ghostbusters, The Karate Kid, The Italian Job, The Omen, The Fog were all great films, you're never going to make them any better... so leave them alone.

The Magnificent Seven - another victim. Watched the original on tele last Sunday. Still good....But they just HAD to do a remake. Totally B@stradised beyond belief to satisfy the PC Nazis.

All these remakes signify a sad lack of talent nowadays. There must be more Star Wars movies than "Rocky" movies by now. At least the original "Seven" acknowledged the inspiration for the movie - the Seven Samurai.

Magnificent 7 is truly bloody awful, such a great cast, such a terrible film.

True Grit and 3:10 to Yuma are my fave western remakes, they work.

Next year there's another Spiderman movie, 3rd actor playing Spiderman in 3rd reboot.
