My First Purchase

Just gained my FAC early December and was lucky enough to get a lead on this beautiful used Uberti last Friday. It's an 1873 with a 19 inch barrel so is classed as a carbine I think and has the stainless steel action. .357 Magnum calibre, lovely smooth action and a nice trigger pull too. Boyhood dream to own a lever action - so I ended up buying two!! The other is a .22 so will post seperately. The Uberti is fantastic quality and I could easily have a rack full of these on the wall!!!

My first gun was a carbine too....an Ivor Johnson M1, from Atkinson's in Stanley.

Uberti are fantastic rifles of great quality. It's not stainless steel, but carbon steel "left in the white". Basically polished with a lacquer added.

^Yes, as above, Uberti don't make any 1873's in stainless steel.

Actually, I didn't know that they sold them 'in white' either, as they've only ever listed blued or case-hardened finish on their website for the '73, and I've never seen a photo of a 'in-white' version either before!!

You need to get a short stroke kit for it now :good:

A slicked and stroked '73 is a thing of joy to use, I adore shooting my .45LC '73 Uberti.

The "white" finish comes and goes as a catalog item. The last version I think was only on the 30" Special Sporting.
