308 ammo

#1 Post by bradaz11 »

I want to buy a friend of a friend in the US some 308 ammo as a thank you.

now I don't shoot 308 so I have no idea what sort of ammo to go for. I was told FMJ and over 150gr. and I want to spend around £50 including delivery, so that would be about $65 all in

anyone able to point me in the right direction?

I would have thought if you stuck to Winchester, Federal and Hornady they should be good quality.

right, rethink lol

sportsmans guide are offering free shipping, so thinking of

1 box - Hornady Rifle, .308 Win., BTHP Match, 168 Grain, 20 Rounds $25.49

1 box - 20 Rounds Federal Premium® Gold Medal® .308 Win. 175 - Grain MKS BTHP Ammo $23.99

and then 1 box of either

PPU .308 Win. 168 Grain Match HPBT 20 rounds $17.49

orrrr

PPU, .308 Winchester, 145 Grain, FMJBT, M80, 20 Rounds $12.69

bit of a variance of weight then?

Why don't you just buy him 60 rounds of Federal GMM?

Firstly, that's very good ammo... and secondly he'll have a meaningful amount and won't have to worry about rezeroing after every box.
