SOG Folding Shovel & Entrenching Tool

If we entered a time of Civil Unrest/Armageddon/Zombie Attacking, what would we do?

SOG Folding Shovel & Entrenching Tool

#1 Post by j2112c »

Be prepared... when you want to dig your car out of the snow, every man and his dog will have bought out the cheaper folding shovels and entrenching tools... now is the time strike a deal before all that is left on the shelf is the £40-£70 technical shovels (can there really be such a thing! Apparently so).

I recommend looking at the SOG... no not the military knife (but it is of course proven!!) no this puppy... only £15!

First snow... and they will be gone... I will let you know how it bears up over the coming months.

Feel free to offer any alternatives, or other experiences to the thread so anyone thinking forwards to the snow can BE PREPARED!

I wonder if Zombies can smell us in snow holes? If not it is a good tool... I know a good entrencher can decapitate ask the Spetznaz.... so if you get a feed failure in the snow it could be a life saver!!

Great advice...I also put in blanket and wellies and always carry water.

Sack of council salt in garage too for the ski-launch drive!

I bought an ex-German Army one for about £10 which lives under the seat of my car. If you can get a British Army one they are a bit bigger. Beware of some of the commercial copies which are made with rivets rather than nuts and bolts; not as strong.

I bought a non-branded similar one about 10 years ago (to dig a hole in Bamburgh beach IIRC . . . :G ANYWAY  ), it was £8 from an Army and Navy store and its served me well ever since. Its larger than this one, what i would term as a small shovel, as opposed to this one which i'd class as a large trowl! The blade is rusted to hell from all the salt i've shovelled with it but still more than servicable and it saved my skin twice in the snow earlier this year :good:

That's a tidgy one -barely bigger than a trowel. I have a couple of the british ones at the back of the garage, care of the great british tax payers. I prefer the russian ones (real; not cheap chinese copies). i have one in each car.
