Ooooh, creating a Birds Head Sheriffs model! Nice!

Please don't take it as a criticism, Jay, but going to need a much better polish before any costing/plating is applied...

I really like it, though!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

Have you thought about Cerakoting it? Just had had a check and they do all sorts of stainless, steels and grey colours! You might get what you want there. It will be very durable and the applicators are mainly RFDs!

And they even do a clear coating! So you could give it a high polish then a clear coat!

NICE!

What did you use to cut the barrel down? Did you do anything to recrown it? Where did you source the grips?

Cheers. I tried to unscrew barrel but it is in there good, and i did not want to distort frame. I cut it with a hacksaw then managed to mount it upright on my mill, clocked it all in and milled the face of the barrel and put a recrown on. I have also cut a slot for the sight blade, so will make a new blade then either braze/solder it on.
Birdshead grip and rear frame are from VTI parts in the states, great service from them.
