Any ideas as to what has happened?
Low velocities cast boolit loads only, reloaded 8 times.
No other damage to the case.

Looks like a blanked primer. Calibre and firearm type / model?

I had the same issue with some of my nny 54r brass some 2 years ago they were full loads with FMJ bullets fired in a 91/30 Mosin Nagant. They were loaded 4/5 times so got rid of the 100 or so cases I had.
nny is early Privi brass I think.

I have around 70 of these cases.
They have only been loaded with cast loads, I might just bin them

I reckon you’ve shot the bottom of the primer pocket down the barrel with everything else. I have some early NNY cases and have never had an issue. But, I don’t use former Soviet calibers. It could be this was intended as single use...! ;-)
