What is your favourite sub seventy five quid tool in the workshop?

I had to clock up a bore that needed to be counter bored concentrically on the Mill the other day so resorted to a co-axial indicator to find the centre of the existing hole. You can pay quite a lot for these things however mine was GBP55.00 delivered and was incredibly accurate with the hole clocking to better than 0.001" which was within tolerance. It would have taken ages to clock in manually so this was a real bonus as it meant set-up took just a couple of minutes.
I should have taken a picture of the job in process. The indicator has more than paid for itself and is now gone back in it's box and on the shelf with my other gauges.

So what is your favourite?

My 14lb hammer,(it fixes everything) but I don't think it cost £75 or anything near it, more like a fiver, 'cos I've got short arms & deep pockets!

But I know what you mean, the right tool makes the job a helluva lot easier.

Tailstock tap and die holder.

The Teslong borescope I got from Amazon. I have loads of tools that haven't cost very much, but the Teslong has provided hours of fun and ( probably unnecesary??) scrubbing!

Bore scopes are something you really don't want to be looking at your barrel with.

It has the same effect as witnessing childbirth, once you see a woman with her insides on the outside you can never look at them in the same way again.

i made that mistake at the birth, turned the wrong way around after seeing my son for the first time. luckily I forced myself to look away before I took in too much detail!

Mine is a recent one.....a homemade Mosin headspace gauge kit that cost me the princely sum of bugger all to make, just bits and bobs I had knocking about and it works perfectly.

Both eBlag and Amazon stock them, I just checked and they are around a fiver more right now from the UK or a fiver less from China. Using one is a revelation, I have wanted one for ages however never really had the need and when I looked last they were GBP200-300 so when I spotted one for very sensible money I grabbed it and I literally could throw it in the bin now (Not that I would!) and not loose money.
