Brilliant - well done. But how many well placed shots would it take to snap the target supporting post?

Trying to introduce my current club into a shooting world that doesn't involve laying down with a sling and aperture sights. It's going to be a long slow process. :)Alpha1 wrote:Good job nice work. Bet thats a load of fun.

It's all a balance Andy. It could be speeded up but budget and portability would soon suffer, there's just no free lunch. Bigger motor at twice the price will need bigger battery and heavy duty electronics. Faster will need a stronger/heavier frame and so it goes on.
Most of the individual stand alone turning targets I've seen seem to work on either various types of lightweight model aircraft servos or something like a car door lock actuator. Using an unstressed windscreen wiper motor it should last almost indefinitely.
ISSF rules allow .3 second for the target to turn - If the new fixed electronic scoring targets are use in competition the green light (face time) stays on for 3.3 seconds to allow for what would have been a skidding shot.
Skidding shots are scored using a skid gauge.
If you wanted to make them really snappy then a pneumatic ram is the way to go.
