If you are making it or modifying it, repairing it or restoring it, it goes in here.

Can't you fit a longer finger to a standard test dial indicator? Of course it won't read the correct measurement but does that really matter? If you are setting up for concentricity the numbers don't necessarily matter, all you're looking for is minimum movement on the dial. - If you really wanted to get technical you could calculate a conversion chart once you have measured the moment length. 2-3" finger should be quite possible.

I have located a finger clock like the ones in the link it has a 45mm finger but its £88.00 I am debating whether to buy it or not. I will see how I get on for now.

I have lots of dial gauges and one finger gauge I might even of bought it from RDG but its not a very long finger I am not sure it will go in far enough to work. But we will see.

True.
I would quite happily buy three bottles of single malt whisky for £88.

Actually, I have recently paid more than that for a tub of Vitavouru powder the new powder for the 6.5 Creedmoor is it N555 I can not remember. Anyway, whatever it was it was £91 for a kilo and then they shut the ranges down. So it's sat on a shelf no point in using it until next year.

So I am going to disappear into my shed and to hell, with it buy the finger gauge.

Even better... drink them and the barrel will start to look clocked on its own!

GBP88.00 is not so bad, my Mitutoyo Long stylus (Lever) was probably closer to twice that, fair to say it is my choice to nearly only run Mitutoyo. I do have a Giss 25-50mm digital which is a M&W in disguise.

I bought the Mitutoyo Long stylus (Lever) version. If it's good enough for Ovenpaa it's good enough for me.
Another question just popped into my head. (Forget that I need to rewatch a DVD.)
