If you are making it or modifying it, repairing it or restoring it, it goes in here.

TRG Bolt issue.

#1 Post by Alpha1 »

Has any one heard of or experience of a TRG bolt snapping off I think its the lug the bolt handle screws into.
If so was it repaired or was it a bolt replacement.

The TRG 21/22 & 41/42 has a skinny bolt all things considered and normally it is the handle that usually snaps off, I would be really surprised if the lug has gone. If you do look for a spare the TRG-S bolt is different.

I got to see the extent of the damage to day its not the bolt handle that snapped he has sheared the lug off that the bolt handle screws into.
I guess its a new bolt or a bolt body if you can get such a thing he bought the rifle in 2004. Its not pretty.

Doesn't sound like a cheap fix, please let us know how much it will cost when/if you get it fixed.

I am not sure it will be fixed you can buy spare parts but they dont list the bolt or bolt body as a spare.

He has been told to expect a wait of up to 12 month and no guarantee he will actually be able to buy a replacement bolt. It does not look good.
