20 bore recommendation please

#1 Post by Gazza »

I'm looking at getting a 20 bore for my lad now hes getting into clay shooting.
I dont want to spend a fortune in case he gives up 8-) An over and under ejector is what I'm after.
He's 12yo and around 5ft so would benefit from a small fit one.
Any recommendations?

And as luck would have it, I saw this a little while ago!

"Webley &a Scott", half decent Turkish made gun, with two stocks and under 500 quid!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

As per the above, I bought my wife a Lincoln back in march. 20g has had very little us and cost around £350 S/H. I considered a E. Rizzini but after much research I felt for quality and budget the Lincoln was the best bet. It seems to shoot well, and is well made. When you stick it next to a Beretta etc you can tell it's a cheaper gun but it doesn't feel tinny or badly put together. It comes across to me as a good entry grade gun that will just keep on working. So top marks from me. All I would say is that it's slightly short for her, she's 5'10 so I think will need a bit adding on the stock to keep her shooting on target.

As I am sure you already know for safety's sake, keep 20g cartridges separate from 12g.

Is it being a O/U a deal breaker? As a Hatsan Escort Youth can be had for £250 S/H

Thanks for the recommendations chaps :good:
The Lincolns do look like a quality gun for the price so I'll have to track one down.

Yildiz, a good cheap second hand Turkish delight. Some like them , some don't !!. A good starter shotgun.
