Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.
If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

A very small black buzzer just under the surface. Had another a very similar size and another 9 between 1-2lb so all in all a really good evenings fishing. My lad very nearly went for a swim when he was playing one fish as a late surge of power caught him by surprise! I haven't moved so fast for years and just manage to get a grip on his collar before he fell in. Bloody dog ate one of the trout whilst we weren't looking but at least that was one less to gut when we got home.ovenpaa wrote:Nice Rainbow, what did you catch it on?

Well done to the boy for refusing to give up. That pic will serve as serious bragging rights at school.

Light heavyweight but with the stamina of a feather weight -once it woke up.ovenpaa wrote:What did it weigh in at?
I didn't have the scales that day (someone has them on 'extended loan' to test trigger pulls and F/TR eligibility), the kitchen scales just flashed "error" when I put in on them and we don't posses any bathroom scales as I don't want a weekly reminder that I am a fat bu**er!
I would guestimate around the 6 1/2 to 7lb mark thou.
