Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Add the cost of the stock plus export licence plus duty, then add the cost of a donor rifle for the action, add a decent barrel and costs just got silly. So we took the Danish path instead. We could have chosen one of a few very good sport hunting type rifles but as Christel is a Dane the S&L seemed like the right move. Hopefully a rifle for grandchildren as I would hope it will last a few lifetimes.

Now with that thought, why not get something nice set in the stock like a gold Krone (right spelling) or something similar? Something to set it apart and have some family heritage?
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

There's a M97-DL Sporter chambered in 6.5-284 for sale in Fultons of Bisley.

It's been on the rack for the best part of four years. Maybe longer!

I believe it's £1650 and comes with 1" mounts.
