Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Just noticed your post ...

Tend to have two weeks on the Spey, March and September with occasional days in between if I am up there - Deveron and Avon (A'an). Unfortunately, I had to pull out of te March week thius year, however they did have a reasonable time and a few fish.

Supposed to have tomorrow on the Deveron but with these conditions not sure if ill bother.
Water was up 2 ft and dirty this morning and could still be rising so might write it off.
Also a season ticket on another beat and do quite a bit up the Helmsdale way so plenty time yet.

I guess you live up that way ... can I ask whereabouts? I have family up there and my late brother-in-law fished the Deveron several times a week!
