It is a good example of why a shot taken must be well placed and effective. There is a lot faith placed in head/neck shots and they do not always work out as planned.

Head and neck shots usually show more ego than sense.

A lot can happen in that split second in the field, you want as much help as possible to make a killing shot.

Just think killing (or in this case trying to kill) a pregnant animal is a bit iffy teanews

I suppose that it depends on whether it is classified as vermin or not.

Bunnies have no close season here and get shot pregnant or not for example.

And of course if you shoot a Muntjac Doe at anytime*, you run the risk she may be pregnant. It is not always easy to tell if they are carrying a kid.

* No close season.

They are considered a pest and the best thing is to use good judgement and only take a shot you are sure of.... wait a sec isn't identifying pregnant Deer part of the deer stalking course?

The operative word I think is HUMANE!

Common decency - this is the sort of stuff the antis love.....

I appreciate vermin control is a necessity - undue suffering is not. Just saying.

Undue suffering is part of the human condition, right or wrong it is still so.
