Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.
If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

That's what I was thinking...
I've never really found a sharpener I was happy with, and I've tried a few different types.

I use a Gerber Fiskars Pocket Knife Sharpener as much as anything, a small T shaped thing with ceramic rods. It must be 20 years old now and still works very well.

I have one it goes everywhere in my pocket alongside my Opinel.
Robust and handy it ensures my knife is always sharp when away from my Lansky and Edge Pro bench sharpening systems.
A blunt knife is as useful as the proverbial chocolate fire guard.

Brought some of these home from holiday in the US, about $10 from memory.
Very handy bit of kit, easy to keep with you and use in the field to refresh an edge, particularly the diamond rod.
