Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Picked up this little fella yesterday, he’s nearly 9 weeks and should be ready to go for next season!

Have you named him yet? 'Camo' or 'Kamo' would be a good start!!

Looks like a nice addition, it will be good going to have him ready for this coming season :good:

Ours is just getting to the end of another hectic season where he has been out up to 4 times a week for the bigger local syndicate shoots, with his breeder, with me and some distant shoots as far out as Shropshire, he is getting to be known as 'Rent Boy' in local circles. He is starting to show some injuries now with a sliced right Carpal pad (The joys of working on flinty land) Plus the usual scratches on the underside of his ears and over his eyes, not that he ever seems to care.

Life with a working dog is very satisfying and ours is always a delight to be with. He is seven this year so the next generation will join us hopefully mid year, the plan is another Labrador and probably a Cocker.

Second picture is from Saturday with another perfect delivery, he is always perfect with game however next month is Pigeons so different rules, I allow him to retrieve on command as shot as opposed to waiting until the drive is finished.
