CZ 452 Magazine .22lr

#1 Post by Pippin89 »

Hi All

I am building a benchrest rifle out of an old CZ 452-2E ZKM. Does anyone have any magazines going spare. Preferably 10 shot or 5 shot would do. I don't mind if its steel or plastic.

No, I have one of those as well but I want to keep magazine capacity to reduce the stuff I have on the bench. My ideal would be a 5 shot mag for sighters and a 10 shot mag for scored shots.

The transfer from the CZ mag to chamber is not the smoothest journey - in benchrest even little things make a difference.

To give the full story, I am making my own benchrest stock from scratch. I am trying it first on a cheap action and if all works well then I will change the bedding block for something more suitable. The CZ action is just a guinea pig really. But while I am fine tuning the stock design I want to keep the bench as free as possible so I am not fighting mess while making adjustments etc. A couple of mags are easier to move around than a box full of loose rounds.

Ahh - interesting.. Is this going to be some sort of aluminium chassis system?

Yes. Not quite the same as the one in the picture. Although some similar concepts. The open forend design looks similar to my rough plans. But mine is wider and flatter designed to be used on a rest rather than a bipod.
