PPU .303 ammo..?

#1 Post by Daryll »

Anyone know where in the Cambs area that has PPU .303 ammo in stock..?

My shooting buddy and my son both have LE's, but no ammo...Fenland Rural Sports and Jon Francis are both out of it, with no idea when they'll get more.

TIA

Daryll.

Herts isn't that far away, Chris at C&G (Ammo Zone) usually has PPU 303 in stock.

If you're still short and don't mind a trip down the M11 in these fuel-frugal times I have some in stock.

I also shot some at the Historic SR match at Bisley last weekend and it shoots better than I can and seems to know it's way to the target despite my best efforts, even in the rain.

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

Thanks Matt... I have advised my son that he may have to look at other brands.. A local RFD has S&B ammo available, and looking at the Ammozone website, thats now cheaper than PPU..
( ... and hes now got a 5L Mustang, so a trip down the M11 is a tankfull..!!)

Someone down the club on Sunday was using the S&B through his No4T and said it seemed ok...(although he did say he normally used handloads to get the most out of the rifle..)

Henry Krank lists it as being in stock.

s&b is pretty good, but don't try to reload it.

I often read that S&B is no good for reloading. However, I have some S&B .303 cases that have been reloaded eight times. I was given them on the range by someone who had just fired them and wanted to dispose of his cases as he didn't reload. I said I would have them and put them in my pocket. They were full length resized once and subsequently neck sized with a Lee collet die and fired in the same rifle, my Lee Enfield No.5, with a light load and S&B primers. I will probably retire them now but I thought eight times wasn't bad. What problems are people having with S&B cases?
Regards
Peter.
