Uberti Henry/Winchester replicas.

#1 Post by dromia »

Spent the morning rattling a few hundred rounds, BP except for the .357, through my Ubertis.

They were all rattling my 6" gong at 100 yrds except when I failed to do my bit.

Top to bottom:

1860 Henry 44-40
1866 Winchester 32-20
1873 Winchester .357 magnum (unfortunately)
1873 Winchester carbine 38-40

No.

Just had them out and took a few quick snaps, before the rain, thought they might have been of interest. The only difference on the other side is the King patent loading gate on the bottom three rifles.

Why so suspicious?

i think suspicion is a little strong, confusion is more like it.

I think it's always nice to see the progression on loading as well as hand placement ideas etc and how it was moved slightly

Very nice! As would happen, was only just speaking with a friend about these an hour ago! We've both had many Uberti rifles through our hands over the years and both are contemplating getting another. Prices though are right up there now!

I fancy the Special Short Rifle, 20" octagonal barrel, pistol grip stock and he fancies a 19" carbine. Both .357.

Still rounds in the tube of the Henry, Adam...?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

No all guns are empty, the Henry has a dowel spacer in the magazine tube so the follower doesn't catch my hand, capacity is reduced to ten rounds.

Lovely collection :good:

I'm a huge Uberti fan, and I'd love to get a 44-40 1866 at some point to go with my .45LC 1873.

So to paraphrase that Confederate exclamation of the Henry, yours is now....

"That damn Yankee rifle that you load on Sunday and shoot.... till Thursday afternoon!" lol
