It might sound awfully petty but I'm researching both the Whitaker Specials and Geoff Hart's conversion of a No.4, and would rather wait to have my research published in the HBSA Journal before sharing it.

P17 conversions exist from both Bert & Geoff as well!

It took me a few months going through the achieved files on my old office system Mick, but here she is Hart S/N 2422, she left my collection to make way for my NZ issued WW1 SMLE.

John, Thanks for taking the time to post these pictures.

The HART conversion is in my opinion the best of any of the No.4 target conversions, and probably the rarest!
Those of us with an interest in his work think he made no more than 30 No.4 conversions.

No, it's one I haven't come across.

Geoff Hart also converted a couple of P17's; as did Bert Whitaker.........the research continues!

I having a sort through my father's (Bert Whitaker) odds and ends and I still have the gun books, medals etc. Let me know if there is any information I may have that is of interest.
