My M96 dated 1918 was lovely but I could not get it to shoot cast well..probably because of the 1 in 7 twist...shot jacketed rounds very accurately....lovely build quality.

I have had a few over the years I have never had any success with cast bullets. The original sights are no good unless you are shooting at 300 yards or more. I gave up on them nice rifles just to much of a chew on to shoot them with original sights.

There are good examples out there.

I picked up this 1915 CG M96, an all matching arsenal refurb that looked unfired when I bought it.

That is a superb looking rifle UKR, a neighbour has one that looked to be unfired when he collected it, perfect wood and a bore that was as bright as a new one.

If you cast your mind back, I think you may have some prior knowledge of this particular rifle!

Now fitted with the correct 1-600m Vasteras rear sight insert.
