There are a lot of collectors that would appreciate the Hungarian Mosin for what it is, a fairly uncommon variant, and as much as it pains me to say it would it not be more sympathetic to carry out your "reproduction sniper" plans on a relatively common variant?, thus leaving the Hungarian as it is for future generations?.

I might now have an original, all matching stamped serial numbered PU sniper in my possession but I feel I am only holding it for future Mosin enthusiasts.

I've just taken a look at the photos of this Mosin on Highwoods website and it would, in my humble opinion, be an absolute travesty to modify such an exceptional looking historic rifle by sticking a reproduction scope on it and turning it into something it isn't and was never meant to be!..

Surely if it was that rare and historic then a collector would have snapped it up and squirreled it away ?
Scope it up and enjoy shooting it, I would.

I tried but it was on the web site for about a day and the OP got in first.

Sorry I cannot make you that promise.
I already own 2 Tula Nagants, both with reproduction PU mounts and scopes.
The Hungarian will make and exception copy of a PE sniper with reproduction mount and scope.
I Have obtained a rare and unusual Ukrainian military scope that will suit and fit this rifle perfectly.
Which reproduction scopes do you use? What limited info there is out there seems to suggest they can be a bit hit and miss. Mostly good but the occasional reticle dropping off whatever holds it and rattling around

As much as some people disagree with it I do like the idea of making some reasonably period correct sniper clones.

snayperskaya was correct in an earlier post, I should change my login to Mosinabill, as I now have three....

Or 'BubbaBill' given your plans for this scarce Hungarian example. :)

Ah thanks Bill.

I have been looking at those previously

You had any issues with yours?

Only a couple of reviews online and some suggested the reticles came loose and other issues
