Springfield Krag at 100 yards!

#1 Post by dromia »

Had the Krag out at 100 yrds yesterday, sorry about the poor pictures they were taken on a bloody mobile phone.

Using my go to 30 calibre load 25gns N120 under NOE 311299, sized 0.310", BHN 10, circa 1800fps.

First two rounds I shot into the bank to warm the barrel then shot the next five for group.

First shot went in at six o clock, adjusted the aim point and the next four went in around the centre, this the best I can do off the rest with my eyes and iron sights especially on the Krag which has a fine blade foresight, the rifle and load would do better with a better shooter for sure. I have to be content with this at my time of life now.

Had a good rattle with my Uberti 1866 in 32-20 as well, another fine shooter.
