Mosina Nagant Izhevsk 1944 rifle

#1 Post by Mauserbill »

Hello
I have just purchased another Mosin Nagant rifle.
I was really looking for a decent M44, A Nice Polish one on this site but unfortunately the seller could not complete a RFD transfer.
but this one popped up and I could not resist. Its a Izhevsk 1944 High wall and looks to be in excellent condition.

That is a fine looking rifle, I would certainly have given it house room! Have you shot it yet?

Hello
No, only just reserved it for sale with Simon at Highwood classics.
If it shoots as well as the Hungarian 91/30 that I purchased from him I will be well pleased.

Woodwork looks awesome!

Has it been restored at all?

I'll stick my neck and and say that other than an Arsenal refurb it hasn't been refinished, it looks typical of an Arsenal refurbed Mosin.

Edit........

If it is the same '44-dated Mosin that is pictured on Highwoods website the rifle was refurbed at the 7th GRAU Arsenal in Riga, Latvia probably between the mid-'50's to early-'60s......
