96/11 Schmidt rubin value

#1 Post by bradaz11 »

If I was looking to buy one of these in fairly good nick for the age, what would be a fair price?
Also are their mags interchangeable with k31's?

mags are not interchangeable, Prices £3-600 seem to be the range, and even now you would be pushed to find one in less than good condition (for any age, woodwork aside) unless it has been neglected in case move on there will be another one along .
your main problem would be finding a 96/11 rather than a G11 as the 96/11 was a reworking of an older rifle to a modern (at the time) standard, usually the spliced in pistol grip and shape of the butt plate give them away .

Also, if you owned one, but didn't shoot it much, would you sell it, or would you hang on to it

I still shoot one at 300m, its a club gun and eats GP11 like candy bangbang still pretty good although the sights are not as good as the K31, if you don't need the space or the slot than keep it, its unlikely to lose value.

The 96/11 is my all time favourite Schmidt Rubin. Nice long sight radius, the fitting of the half pistol grip is elegantly done and it is far less bullet fussy than the K31 and its short sight radius.
