Soviet SKS

#1 Post by rufrdr »

A friend gave me his Soviet SKS and 900 rounds of ball ammunition as well as a Marlin 80 .22 bolt action rifle. He no longer shoots and didn't want these around.

The SKS is an Izveshk from 1954 (my birthdate) and it is looking better that I do for the same amount of years.

I don't have a picture of the Marlin model 80 but I actually enjoyed shooting it more than the SKS as my failing eyes have trouble with the SKS sights. I was able to hit the range steel swinging targets at 200 yards with it with regularity. The targets are about a foot across but look like poker chips from 200 yards with iron sights!

Hello
Really nice, resist all efforts to remove your 2nd amendment rights or you will end up like the UK "Neutered"

A friend who used to live in Minneapolis used to have an SKS that I shot a few times.
I was surprised how accurate it was albeit only had access to 100 yd range.
He moved to New Jersey and gave the SKS to a work mate as he thought it problematical to take it to NJ!
NJ hates guns. You need a licence for an air soft.
