For any shooters who find themselves a drift!

Shanklin Rifle & Pistol Club on the Isle of Wight. http://www.shanklinrifleandpistolclub.org.uk
Outdoor 25m with turning targets & 100m range both have covered firing points at Downend Quarry. 25m indoor range in Shanklin.

As you'd expect for the Isle of Wight, it's all fairly incestous so outdoor range is used by other Island clubs and shooters often have duel membership i.e. ex-pistol shooters from Shanklin make up a large part of the Island Practical Shooting Club (IPSC) who primarily shoot at Downend.

We hope you mean dual membership, oomans. Duelling is frowned upon these days...

My lot (The Dorset Riflemen) dont have a website (in spite of my offering to sort one and look after it).

We are a F class based club, mainly an F open club, with a growing F/TR contingent.

We have various GB Team members as club members and most of us are competitive either within the club or the F class league.

We shoot once a month at the NSC (last sunday as a rule) which is a club comp (F class) the results of which go towards various trophies at the end of the year.

We shoot exclusively F class faces between 300-1000.

Usual course of fire is

High season

2+10 @ 3/5/600 or 2+15 900/100 £10 Members £15 Guests

Low season

2+15 @ 3/600 or 2+15 900/100 £5 Members £10 Guests

Usual thing, guests can legitimately attend 2 a year, membership is currently £65 PA

This year there will also be an aggregate trophy for F/TR (taken as top 8 results including 2 long range out of 12)

We usually hold a plink (for testing or anyone not shooting F at all sorts of targets) at East Holm on the Lulworth complex (when it is not being dug up), currently there are a few shoots being arranged at the NSC while this range is closed for works.

The shoots are usually well attended, so we tend to shoot 3 to a target and have 3 targets, shooting right to left in turn.

This tests your wind reading as the time between firing is extended.

Dont be offended if once finished you are helped off the firing point with your kit, we simply dont have time to burn if we want to get everyone through a shoot. We usually get 25-30+ attend.

Approximate times of details and squadding is sent out prior to each shoot via email.

Club Sec is John Seager

jseager@talk21.com

We dont currently offer specialist coaching or instruction but plenty of friendly help and advice is available.
