This morning on Century.........

#1 Post by Pete »

This morning at 600yds.jpg
We were feeling pretty smug, considering how windy it was..........

Then it was pointed out that I'd omitted to set the screen up for F-class scoring............ wallhead **** bangbang

Still, a cracking morning though....

Nice shooting Pete! So were you set up for TR scoring?
Never take good advice, if you think you know better.

Yep, I don't know if you're familiar with Intarso electronics. You can set the monitor up to score for various disciplines/distances/no of shots, whatever, using the same aiming mark.
There were three of us shooting, and for the first hour or so, it was one V after another.....!!
My sidekick in the pic hit 8/10 with her first card, then our mate hit 8/10, then i hit 9/10, and it was at that point I started to smell a rat, because I'm simply not that good.
What it boiled down to was that instead of 1/2 MOA groups, they were 1 MOA. Still quite good, though, for a bunch of budget rifles...........

You can also turn off the stupid numbers (which distort the group centre):

Options: Number the hits, uncheck.

Thanks for that, Rox...............is it possible to make the dots/numbers smaller in relation to the rings, or better still, just indicate the last shot taken?
We'd prefer to use plot sheets instead of pfaffing about with a camera.

We'd prefer to use plot sheets instead of pfaffing about with a camera.
You can make the rings larger in relation to the dots - press 'Zoom' (example below).
The last shot is always shown in red.
You can select a previous shot which is shown in blue.
For some reason the shot 'blobs' are a sensible size on the Stickledown targets, and are OK on some of the Century targets, but other targets on Century seem to have a 'small' option which is tiny (& useless) and a large option which is absolutely huge.
My first step on arriving at a target is always to turn off 'number the hits' and also 'display series'.
For some reason the programmer saw fit to make the shot numbers grow with Zooming, so they get even worse (there's a reason most or all other target systems don't show numbers) - maybe the programmer's shooting is such that neither zooming nor overlapping numbers was a problem for him!

I had an hour at 1,000 yards today to do some load testing and was delighted with what appears to be a 0.7MOA group in a wind gusting to 6mph.

Is it possible to program the system to show group size?
