Hi, everyone

#1 Post by rsh »

Hey everyone!

I'm Ryan, I'm new(ish) to the shooting world but I've always had an interest in guns, especially marksmanship and sharpshooting (not sure how I feel about hunting, but I am warming to the idea), but only recently actually done something about it - gun laws and restrictions in the UK being as convoluted as humanly possible and all, I had no idea I could just join a club and hire a gun for the evening wallhead

I recently found a local gun range (Phoenix Range in Cudworth, Barnsley) that does try shoots and convinced my boss to take the company on one as a team building exercise, long story short - everyone loved it and a bunch of us are now members.

As you typically do I got started on semi-automatic .22 LR rifles (Sig Sauer 522, then Smith & Wesson M&P15-22), then I've slowly bumped my way up the calibres and now I regularly shoot a Remington 700 in .308 WIN and I don't think I'm too bad of a shot but I know I have a long way to go. I'm about half-way through my probationary period and after that I intend to get my FAC and try and find some outdoor ranges (hopefully some local ones) where I can try my hand at shooting over some decent distances. Although I do know Phoenix are looking to partner with some outdoor ranges for members, so hopefully that pans out in the next couple of months fingerscrossed

I look forward to lurking the threads and interacting with you all, expect a few dumb questions from me in the coming days... and good hunting to you all!

I'm not - I'm mostly in the Microsoft sphere, but I am a bit of a dabbler and I've got a bit of experience with Linux and BSD, I reckon I know more than most but I'm by no means a sysadmin but if you have a question please fire away :P
Good hunting, and Godspeed 👍
