Nice pics there! That wood looks gorgeous, especially that nice stripe in the wood grain.

Not just a new gun, but my first on my FAC, a new Marlin 1894 in .44Mag

Very smooth straight out of the box and I can't wait to get it to the range later this week.
I have run a few snap caps through and the loading gate is a bit vicious, but otherwise it functions exactly as could be hoped for.

A trick to loading with the Marlin, is to not fully insert the cartridge when loading multiple rounds. Leave a small amount of the case sticking out to wedge the gate open for easy loading of the next round.

That is what I was doing, but a couple of times it would through the round out, and that was with just the rim sticking out.
I am sure in due course it will mellow.

After much research, I settled on a Schultz & Larsen Victory to fill the .243 slot on my ticket.

I wasn't in any great rush but I emailed McAvoy Guns to see what they could offer & this Grade 5 stocked little beauty was what I ended up with.
I picked up some S&L scope mounts & a Superdome moderator at the same time & attached an unused 6x42 Leupold FXII that I've had sitting around for years.
I spent more than double my intended budget due to the stock but as they say; you can't take it with you... :D

I just chopped in four quarry rifles for four variations for target rifles as I am shooting more target these days, just picked up the fourth and final new acquisition.

New toys from the top:

1955 Fazakerley No 4 Mk II .303 (I repatriated this from Germany, which was an easy process).

1969 Enfield Envoy 7.62

1950 BSA No 8 .22 LR Cadet rifle

GSG STG 44 .22 LR semi auto
