Just an update FAC and Shotgun cert landed this morning, just under 3 weeks after my visit, everything looks to be in order which is good, now time for shopping :-)
Also just on a side note I've had a letter about 'cartridge retention' and some little plastic bags, essentially the police want me to send back spent cartridges it's voluntary so not going to comply, what are other people's thoughts?

It's come up before, I think the discussion came out split... personally I wouldn't send any out, but I do think I should keep a sample myself in case one day i'm unfortunate enough to have someone nick one. but it is a bit pointless as what good does it do you to know after a gun is reported stolen if it is used in a crime, especially if they can't prove a timeframe on the crime etc. if it's recovered, then they have it to test and link to crimes, if they don't have it, then knowing that its my gun that is being used doesn't really aid anyonepbrazendale wrote: Also just on a side note I've had a letter about 'cartridge retention' and some little plastic bags, essentially the police want me to send back spent cartridges it's voluntary so not going to comply, what are other people's thoughts?
