Good information however I wish whoever wrote it would stick to the word "Firearm"

It is not "good information". In the definition of antique firearms, it fails to mention the home office list of obsolete calibres. Any firearm so chambered. if manufactured before 1939, is also classed as antique.

This appears to be a dead link now. I had a quick look around their web site but couldn't seem to find anything beyond what most forces seem to have in terms of info.

I applied for my shotgun certificate almost 6 weeks ago, my GP surgery and the police are still faffing about with my medical report I think the gp has already supplied them with 2 if not 3 reports!! The police say they haven't had a detailed enough report and the surgery say they have given the info required but there was an issue with who was paying for it, I paid for the first one and it has now been agreed there is no further charge for the other reports.
Hopefully things are sorted and moving forward now.
Between Durham constabulary and my GP surgery they seem to be making things very difficult, doesn't look like I will have my certificate granted within in the 6 to 8 weeks average!!
Anyone else had problems like this?

Looks as if the government..when we ever get one...will be controlling all firearms matters...pity they cannot do something about knife crime...
