Limbsaver barrel dampener

#1 Post by jack1 »

HI

Has anyone use a Limbsaver barrel dampener? I saw one in use and the results are phenomenal. I bought the bull barrel version for my Volquartsen and it is true to say it works, I thought it was a 'snake oil' product but having used it Witchcraft it may be but it works. Go to you tube to see the results https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWnz2-3BXYg

Just a warning Amazon UK are selling them at £47.50 Limbsaver USA will send one to you for $28. I wish I'd bought two at $5.99 each . One for the LBP would be interesting,

So how does it work if you have a foresight fitted, or a full length stocked rifle, use a moderator or is it only limited for use on bare parallel sided barrels?

I think you're stuffed if you have full stocked rifle but a split down one side and a couple of cable ties or jubilee clips would work. These are a simple mass damper, yes they work, just not very pretty.

Here's a "redneck" version. Google bump stop images for plenty more

Don't know about a moderator it is for target shooting but OK with a muzzle brake and foresight. With regard to a full length stock wont work I wouldn't think but OK with all others such as Ruger, Volquartsen, CZ, Remington, Marlin and so the list goes on for 1500, PP1, bench rest, target rifle up to bull barrel in fact most. Guess you won't be buying one though As I suggested go to YouTube.

I don't need to go to you tube to know what a barrel dampener claims to do. :D

I made an adjustable tuner for my Sako Finnfire, fits between the barrel and moderator:

A few of the bench rest air gun shooters swear by them, the are nice bits of engineering with micro adjust and lock.

The odd rimfire shooter uses them as well.
