Hi,
A mate of mine can't decide which one to buy,
Obvously the razor is more expensive & heavier, likewise it has more adjustment & a bigger tube.
But aside from that..

Is the razor worth the Differance ???

I have a Vortex Viper PST Gen II on my AR. Can’t fault the glass and build quality. Can’t comment on adjustment as its the 1-6 version.

I've got a razor gen 2 1-6 and the glass quality is very good indeed ( to my eyes anyway ).

The turrets work well for my purposes and it tracks perfectly as you would expect at the price.

Overall I like it, but - it's heavy, as in really £$56&*ng heavy for a 1-6 power optic.
I can notice the difference in weight up top when standing / sitting / kneeling.

I was using a Leupold VXR Patrol 1-4, and the Vortex is double the weight.
12 oz vs. 25 oz.

So that might be a consideration for you.

(the PST and Razor are both 30mm ?)

Hi,
Cheers for your comments.

The pts2 is 30mm, the Razor is 34mm.

As I said, obvously one has more 'movement' than the other & I know the Razor is heavy ( must be the glass ) which was a consideration & hence why I was trying to see if there was much noticeable Differance when looking through them.
The laws of diminished returns mean that each small increment of greatness comes at a phenomenal cost - look at F1 racing and the £millions they spend on 0.1 sec advantages.

But I suppose the real question is, as its nearly double the price, would / is there much noticeable difference when you look at 1000 yards ?
