I'm not getting any younger. I recently did a survey of all the guns I own and how often I actually shoot them.
This resulted in a Cull.
I offloaded.
1. A 6.5x55 TIKKA this was scrapped.
2. A 6.5x55 Carl Gustaf. Sold it for very little money to free up the slot.
3. A .222 I can not remember the last time I shot it.
4. A P14 it's been sat in my cabinet since I bought it.
5. A CZ .22 452 I bought this to complete the probationary membership of my most recent club now I am a member I don't need it anymore so it's gone.
All of my Milsurp stuff has gone except for one .303 No4 and a MAS 36.
I have a Mauser training rifle in .22 and my AIA in 7.62x39.
Sad but in my opinion necessary I'm not getting any younger at my age I need to be lean and mean. I only need guns I'm actually going to shoot.
Cull is over for now.

Out of interest, did your FEO ever comment on owning firearms you weren't using?Alpha1 wrote:I'm not getting any younger. I recently did a survey of all the guns I own and how often I actually shoot them.

As I understand it, they dont PROACTIVELY look into how many times per year you are using each rifle. They dont have the manpower.Pippin89 wrote:Out of interest, did your FEO ever comment on owning firearms you weren't using?Alpha1 wrote:I'm not getting any younger. My FEO hasn't actually said that I must thin my collection out, or ever commented on my firearm usage (easily confirmed), but I read between the lines and sold 3 x .22 LR's ................. and bought a new CZ457 .22 LR to replace one of 'em.Pippin89 wrote:Out of interest, did your FEO ever comment on owning firearms you weren't using?

It does tend to depend on where you live. The FEO’s in Notts for example asked one of our club members to produce copies of range logs for each time he’d shot each of his firearms. He has quite a few as well! There had been no allegations or anything, it’s just what Notts do.
