Whats it worth? Kahles K312 'scope

#1 Post by Ovenpaa »

I have a Kahles 312 (3-12x50) with 34mm tube and FFP reticle which has always been my spare and it is not getting used, does anyone have a view on the value of such a thing? It looks perfect and I suspect the box is somewhere as well. It is currently sitting on my spare 6,5x47 Lap rifle.

Thoughts anyone?

A really good piece of glass. But even though very expensive when new, the others in this class really suffer secondhand wise. They are touted as long range but only offer a maximum x12 power. X25 seems to be the minimum that is fashionable for long range these days as is a 56mm objective. And despite the advantages of 34mm tubes, again in conversation people are avoiding them because of the mounting options that aren’t horrendously priced.

In short my view is simply a great, high quality scope that really doesn’t fit the vogue of today so despite the high cost new, secondhand value may suffer. But, what I’ve done recently is actually trade scopes, which has been much better.

BTW, I really like the Khales. I’d say keep it.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
