What has happened to firearms transactions since the Plague
Hello
Here in the Northwest all of the clubs around used to have a very active buying and selling regime going on, but it appears that since the start of the plague everything seems to have taken a drastic downturn, from conversations with fellow shooters at various local clubs everybody is of the same opinion that with venues having restrictions or closed there seems to be little point in acquiring additional firearms. Also the latest dictate from Government for the Northwest is that you cannot meet in somebodies home or even a garden
( So face to face sales are out of the question) It would appear that there is every possibility that many local ranges may not reopen until 2021.
It would be interesting to find out the views of the dealer RFDs on the site regarding transactions.

On Nottinghamshire Police Firearms page is the following
Nottinghamshire Police have unfortunately taken the difficult decision not to accept any new applications for the grant of either firearm, shotgun or explosives certificates between the 1st October and 31st December 2020. Neither can we accept any requests for the Variation of Firearms certificates during this time. We realise this will not be a popular decision and one which has not been taken lightly.
The rationale being there is already an existing back log of grant applications due to the unprecedented times we continue to face through Covid-19. Additionally the department is entering a period of high demand in relation to existing certificate holders requiring their renewal applications processing.

There is no excuse for putting grants, renewals or variations on hold .
Most of the work involved is done in the office . It should be done then the paperwork held until a visit can be arranged .
That is if a visit is needed .

Beds, Cambs & Herts - 14 days for two variations during July. Delay was my side in sending in my FAC.
In all dealings this year my FEO and thier office have been excellent.
