Durham FAC renewal time

#1 Post by dodgyrog »

I've just put in my co-terminus FAC renewal and paid the doctor £40 for his report. Blackpowder licence also in for renewal.
I wonder how long Durham will take - I'm betting over 6 months and that's being optimistic.
Durham are at the bottom of the league for time of renewals!

Mine when in a month ago and i'm optimistically hoping for it back on time at the back end of February or at least within the 8 week additional time certificates are now valid for after their expiry date! fingerscrossed

I put our club Fac in for a simple change of secretary back in April (change of force areas) that took 8 months.

My personal renewal is due at the end of April next year and I've already sent that in.

They've admitted their biggest problem is the constant turn over of staff as they are on the lowest pay grade.

Durham were (once again) in the bottom 3 performing forces in December 2019 {so pre-Covid)) and the force with the highest degradation of service throughout 2020.

Their earlier attempts to blame it on Covid 19 were ridiculous, Cleveland have areas with greater infection rates and are still turning round renewals in around 2-3 weeks.
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)

Really! I have no changes to my circumstances. The FEO has seen my level3 security TWICE in 2020. The renewal could be done over the phone in minutes!
They blame Covid but they have given very poor service for a few years now.

Still nothing and my FAC and SGC run out in a couple of weeks. Looks like I'll need as section 7 permit!

Only if they go over 8 weeks after expiry (as per the changes made under the Policing and Crime Act 2017)

Just had a letter from Durham FLD to say they aren't going to be able to renew my cert in time so accept this letter as confirmation of the extension of time. Cert doesn't expire until back end of February so they must be absolutely swamped! Not surprised they haven't been in touch about my MARS yet then!
